Interaction-resistant metals in multicomponent Fermi systems

چکیده
We analyze two different fermionic systems that defy Mott localization showing a metallic ground state at integer filling and very large Coulomb repulsion. The first is multiorbital Hubbard model with Hund's coupling (this physics has been widely studied, the new called metal), second SU(3) patterned single-particle potential designed to display similar interaction-resistant metal in setup which can be implemented $\mathrm{SU}(N)$ ultracold atoms. With simple analytical arguments exact numerical diagonalization of Hamiltonians for minimal three-site system, we demonstrate emerges both cases as compromise between insulating solutions are stabilized by terms models. This provides strong evidence specific realization more general phenomenon realized various strongly correlated systems.

RKKY interaction and intrinsic frustration in non-Fermi-liquid metals.
We study the RKKY interaction in non-Fermi-liquid metals. We find that the RKKY interaction mediated by some non-Fermi-liquid metals can be of much longer range than for a Fermi liquid. The oscillatory nature of the RKKY interaction thus becomes more important in such non-Fermi liquids, and gives rise to enhanced frustration when the spins form a lattice. Frustration suppresses the magnetic ord...
متن کاملOnly Fermi-Liquids are Metals
Any singular deviation from Landau Fermi-liquid theory appears to lead, for arbitrarily small concentration of impurities coupling to a non-conserved quantity, to a vanishing density of states at the chemical potential and infinite resistivity as temperature approaches zero. Applications to copperoxide metals including the temperature dependence of the anisotropy in resistivity, and to other ca...
متن کاملApplication of the Genetic Algorithm to Calculate the Interaction Parameters for Multiphase and Multicomponent Systems
A method based on the Genetic Algorithm (GA) was developed to study the phase behavior of multicomponent and multiphase systems. Upon application of the GA to the thermodynamic models which are commonly used to study the VLE, VLLE and LLE phase equilibria, the physically meaningful values for the Binary Interaction Parameters (BIP) of the models were obtained. Using the method proposed in t...
متن کاملInteraction versus dimerization in one-dimensional Fermi systems
In order to study the effect of interaction and lattice distortion on quantum coherence in one-dimensional Fermi systems, we calculate the ground state energy and the phase sensitivity of a ring of interacting spinless fermions on a dimerized lattice. Our numerical DMRG studies, in which we keep up to 1000 states for systems of about 100 sites, are supplemented by analytical considerations usin...
متن کاملHolographic metals and the fractionalized fermi liquid.
We show that there is a close correspondence between the physical properties of holographic metals near charged black holes in anti-de Sitter (AdS) space, and the fractionalized Fermi liquid phase of the lattice Anderson model. The latter phase has a "small" Fermi surface of conduction electrons, along with a spin liquid of local moments. This correspondence implies that certain mean-field gapl...
